In 2015, I was given the delightful opportunity to become a beekeeper.  I have had an interest in animals and insects like most kids do, but didn't really grow out of it.  I had never pursued doing anything more interactive besides studying and drawing them, though when the topic was brought up as a side venture for the company, I jumped at the chance to be more hands on.
Over the course of the year, with the help of an experienced beekeeper to help guide me, I built a colony of hives on the roof of the business.  It was probably the most fun I've had on a project in a while, giving me lots of time to work more hands on and outside.  I drove hours to collect additional hives, assembled their homes, and cultivated the harvest.  They flourished suprising well in their first year for us to be able to give honey to our clients, for the colony to surive the winter, and a little bit left over for ourselves.
Below is the documentation of the build up of the colony, and the accompany branding and marketing material created in time for the holidays.
